Salem Prepares For Retirement of City Clerk Jane MarshallAfter a more than 40 year career at Salem City Hall, City Clerk Jane Marshall is preparing to retire.
Salem City Manager Bill Gruen announced at Monday night's council work session that while no date has been set, Marshall plans to retire in the near future. The budget includes money to combine the position of City Clerk and the job of current administrative assistant to the City Manager Bev West. Gruen says West would be paid more than her current salary in the combined position.
In addition, another clerk would be hired to handle some of West's non-administrative duties.
