Salem Man Seriously Hurt in I-70 Wreck

By Bruce Kropp, WJBD News

A 58-year-old Salem man was seriously injured in a two vehicle crash on Interstate 70 near the Brownstown exit Sunday afternoon.

State Police say Frank Keener was eastbound when he approached a previous accident.  He followed the direction of a fireman and moved to the driving lane and slowed with traffic since the passing lane was being shutdown.    A car driven by 47-year-old Judy Hejnal of St. Elmo was not able to slow down in time and crashed into the rear of the Keener vehicle.

Keener was taken to the Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia for treatment.  Hejnal was not hurt.

State Police say the investigation is continuing.
