Salem Man Faces DUI Charge Following CrashA 55-year-old Salem man was arrested for driving under the influence and improper lane usage following a two vehicle crash in Salem Saturday night.
Salem Police say David McMillan of East Bryan Street was northbound but over the centerline of Illinois Street when he approached the Boone Street intersection. The crash occurred when 34-year-old Emily Smith of Fairview Drive in Salem was making a left turn from Boone Street to travel southbound on Illinois and McMillan pulled forward and struck her van.
McMillan refused hospital treatment for his injuries. He was taken to the Marion County Jail on the DUI and improper lane usage charge. McMillan later posted $100 bond and was released. Smith was not hurt in the wreck.
The crash occurred at 5:57 Saturday night.
