Salem Man Arrested for Criminal Sexual Assault
A 19-year-old Salem man has been arrested for criminal sexual assault. Marion County Sheriff's Department Investigator Anthony Decker says Roy Cochran of East Schwartz was taken into custody Monday for forceably committing a sex act with a 19-year-old Salem woman. The incident reportedly occurred at a home on Tonti Road during a Sunday night party. The woman went home with a friend that night and came to the sheriff's department the next day to report the incident. She then went to Salem Township Hospital for treatment. Cochran was arrested when coming to the jail at the sheriff's department's request in connection with another case. He was being held in jail pending the filing of formal charges.
