Salem High School Hires New Band DirectorSalem Community High School has a new band director. John Randolph of Centralia has been hired to replace John Haney who resigned earlier this month to take a position with a suburban Chicago High School.
Randolph has been the Sandoval School Band Director for the past three years and has worked with the percussion unit of the Salem Band the past four years. "I see everything forward as it was before. We hate to see Mr. Haney leaving, but I also see it as an opportunity for me to keep developing what he had built," said Randolph. "We will continue forward and with the success that he had."
Randolph was also the band director at Ashley Grade School for six years. He is a graduate of Morehead State University in Kentucky.
Randolph says the summer band camp will go on as scheduled, with the percussion reporting on Monday and the rest of the band the following Monday.
