Salem Garden Tours Set for SaturdayThe Salem Daffy Dill Garden Club is holding their Garden Treasures and More Garden Tour on Saturday.
This year's show chair Myron Lloyd says tickets will be available to tour the five gardens beginning at 8:30 Saturday morning at the All American Bryan Statue Garden on Route 37 North. He reports all five gardens are unique.
Lloyd says one is a country garden. "A hugh floral display along with their vegetable garden, uniquely mixed together. We have a couple of gardens that are in homes that use a lot of potting, a lot of texture which would be trees, bushes and shrubs more of a formal offering. We also have a unique tribute garden that began for a lady whose mother passed away. She had received some outdoor plantings and it developed into a garden in honor and memory of her brother," said Lloyd.
Lloyd says the five dollar ticket allows you to visit each of the homes on the tour. There will also be plenty of activity at the Bryan Statue garden. Lloyd reports there will be BBQ and homemade ice crease, plant and gardening items, collectables, and crafts. Three groups will play music around the statue. They are the Rusty Strings Delcimer, Nick Parker and the Barbershop Four barbershop quartet.
Lloyd notes all the money raised will go back into the Daffy Dill Garden Club's efforts
