Salem City Council To Consider Gas Line Relocation

By Bruce Kropp, WJBD News

The Salem City Council Monday night will consider a bid to relocate a natural gas line to assist the Union Pacific Railroad with expansion of a switch in their railyards northeast of Salem.

The council will review a proposal from Glass and Shuffett to perform audit services for the fiscal year that will end April 30th.  The proposed cost is $27,500.  That's up from $26,600 that was charged for the last audit.

A proclamation will be presented declaring March as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness month.

Salem Mayor John Raymer is recommending Jane Marshall be appointed to the Historical Commission and Josh Dice be reappointed to the Airport Authority.

The meeting begins at six Monday night at Salem City Hall.
