Rural Kell Home Destroyed in Friday Morning Fire
Kell Assistant Fire Chief Mick McDaneld says the Dave Pierce family was not at home. Their two story house at 568 Roosevelt Road about five miles east of Kell was fully engulfed in flames when it was discovered by a passing motorist on the Route 161 Extension around 3:55 Friday morning.
McDaneld says the house was already a total loss upon their arrival and the flames had spread to a detached two car garage. Firemen were able to keep the garage from being totally destroyed, although it did receive moderate damage and several items inside were destroyed.
McDaneld says there were no immediate clues on what may have started the fire. As a result, a State Deputy Fire Marshall has been asked to review the fire scene.
Kell Firemen called Orchardville Firemen for mutual aide assistance.
McDaneld says there were no injuries or problems in fighting the fire.
