Republican State Rep. to Run for 12th Congressional District Seat
Bost said he came to the decision to run after seeing how the choices being made in Washington are endangering the future of his three children and nine grandchildren. Bost is a married father of three, served in the U.S. Marines and currently represents the 115th Congressional District and is a small business owner. He'll announce his candidacy in stops at Belleville, Mt. Vernon and Murphysboro.
"I understand the value of balancing a budget, meeting a payroll and making sure we don't overspend. That's something I've dealt with during my time in public service and as a business owner, and also in our household," Bost said. "The policies coming from Washington are hurting southern Illinois families. If we can get Washington out of the way and give our job creators some stability and the opportunity to succeed, then we will see our economy turn around." Bost says the one area he has always believed our federal government must be fully invested is national defense and says a strong, modern military will always be a top priority of his.
Mike Bost will be traveling throughout the 12th Congressional district over the coming weeks listening to the concerns of southern Illinois families. To learn more about Mike Bost and receive updates from the Bost For Congress campaign please visit Mike's website, www.bostforcongress.com.
