Raccoon Grade School Praised on Renaissance Learning Programs

The Raccoon Grade School has received several recognitions on their involvement in the Renaissance Learning Star Program Tuesday night.  

Teacher Angie Watkins was chosen by Renaissance Learning as a model Accelerated Reading classroom.  Teachers Penny Lamberson, Misty Alli, and Ashlee Adams were chosen as Accelerated Math model classrooms.  The second-quarter accelerated reading winning classrooms were Mrs. Monken's 3rd grade class, Mrs. Villalobos' 4th grade class, and Mrs. Smith's special education class.  

The school board was also notified that the school has received $1,600 for the Student Council and Beta Club trip to Chicago.  

In Board action, the Board approved the life safety amendment #11.  The Board approved the certified staff seniority list.  The Board accepted the resignation of yearbook sponsor Alissa Dees.  The Board approved the risk management plan and the superintendent's contract.
