Police Beat for Tuesday, January 29th, 2013
24-year-old Matthew Claxton of Oglesby Street in Salem remained in custody Tuesday morning after being arrested for violation of the sex offender registration act. Claxton had reportedly been living in Alma the past month without giving police a change of address.
66-year-old Carolyn Hill of North Maple in Centralia was being held Tuesday morning for deceptive practice. Hill is accused of writing four bad checks to the Centralia VFW totaling $350.
A 29-year-old Odin man, Joshua Arnold of North Wood, has been arrested by sheriff's deputies for alleged purchase of pseudoephedrine with a prior methamphetamine conviction.
Three others remain in custody on outstanding warrants. 29-year-old Brett Alcorn of Marion Street in Centralia is being held on outstanding Marion and Jackson County felony warrant. 28-year-old Michael Lyday Junior of East Main Street in Salem was arrested by Salem Police on a St. Clair County warrant. 35-year-old Gorgeous Jones of Martin Luther King Drive in Centralia was picked up on an outstanding Marion County felony and Clinton County misdemeanor warrant.
20-year-old Louis Wade of Cross Road in Salem posted $150 bond and was released for driving on a suspended license.
