Police Beat for Thursday, November 15th, 2012
Six people were in the Marion County Jail Thursday morning following Wednesday and early Thursday arrests.22-year-old Megan Benoit of Kankakee was arrested by sheriff's deputies for alleged driving under the influence.
24-year-old Timothy Smith of East Olive Street in Salem was arrested by sheriff's deputies on a petition to revoke his probation.
Two others are being held on outstanding warrants. 38-year-old Stacy Braddy of rural Vandalia was arrested on an outstanding Wayne County warrant. 26-year-old John Atteberry of Mills Cart Road turned himself in on an outstanding Marion County misdemeanor warrant.
46-year-old Jerry Correll of South Maple in Centralia and 21-year-old Jerry Carpenter of Fairway Drive in Centralia were both arrested for driving on a suspended license.
The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of a dirt bike from Anthony Harwell of Selmaville Road in Salem.
Salem Police say the canopy at the Swifty's Gas Station at 1300 West Main was damaged when a semi apparently attempted to drive underneath it sometime before the station opened at six Thursday morning.
