Police Beat for Thursday, June 20th, 2013A 58-year-old Centralia man has been arrested by Central City Police for residential burglary and felony theft. Calvin McGee of East Rhodes is accused of entering the Indy Cates home in Richmond Heights Mobile Home Park and taking batteries used for a solar power system. Central City Police Chief Mike Berger said McGee was arrested during a traffic stop at Sycamore and and McCormick Street in Centralia after they had obtained information about his alleged involvement in the burglary. Another person is also being sought in connection with the burglary.
A 30-year-old Centralia man is being held in the Marion County Jail for possession of meth manufacturing materials and meth precursors. Jeremy Pope of East Fifth was arrested by State Police.
Two others remain in jail on outstanding warrants. 33-year-old Kelly Schuchman of Page Avenue in Odin was arrested by Centralia Police on outstanding Marion and Clinton County warrants. 47-year-old Robert Rutledge of Olmstead was picked up by sheriff's deputies on an outstanding traffic warrant.
Salem Police are investigating the theft of a car seat from Sara Phillips of East Mitchell Street in Salem while her car was parked in the 400 block of South Pearl.
The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating a complaint filed by Ray Krutsinger of the Sullens Road in Iuka that items had been taken from property he owns on the Selmaville Road and later sold at a salvage yard.
