Police Beat for Thursday, August 7th, 2014

State Police arrested two Jefferson County residents on drug charges following a Wednesday night traffic stop.  The driver, 26-year-old Brooke Braden of West 5th Street in Bluford, was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and on an outstanding Marion County warrant.  A passenger, 29-year-old Natasha Hill of South 24th in Mt. Vernon, was arrested for possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Both remained in the Marion County Jail pending a first appearance in court Thursday morning.  

26-year-old Joey Catron of East Sandpiper in Bluford posted $150 bond and was released after being arrested for driving on a suspended license.

The Marion County Sheriff's Department has recovered a stolen ATV.  It was found hidden behind a tank battery on Park Street in Patoka.  It had been taken from the Robin Sturgeon home on South Walnut in Patoka before early Tuesday evening.
