Police Beat for Sunday, October 14thA 21-year-old Centralia man has been arrested for aggravated battery in connection with an assault that sent a 16-year-old male juvenile to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment. Centralia Police say Justin Ely of North Hickory Street allegedly struck the juvenile in the head at Poplar and Howard Streets. Initial police reports indicate the juvenile was bleeding from the head. The incident occurred at 11:07 Saturday night.
A 21-year-old Centralia man has been arrested on charges of alleged theft. Centralia Police arrested Cameron Derrick Jones of College Road in Centralia and he remains in the Marion County Jail.
49-year-old Destry Dwayne Wood of Patterson Street in Central City remains in the Marion County Jail after being arrested by Central City Police on a Marion County failure to appear warrant on a disorderly conduct charge.
Centralia Police are investigating a burglary at the Erika Brown home on North Lincoln Street. Brown returned home Saturday night to find her home had been entered and several items missing.
Police received a report that a car owned by Raymond Mandrell of North Poplar Street in Centralia was damaged after being hit with a baseball bat.
