Police Beat for Saturday, January 12th, 2013A 46-year-old Iuka woman is being held in the Marion County Jail after being arrested early Saturday morning for possession of a controlled substance. Kelly Vorce of Old Bell Road was taken into custody by Central City Police.
A 19-year-old Centralia man remained in custody Saturday on outstanding Marion and Clinton County warrants. Dustin Wooters of East 12th was arrested by Wamac Police.
24-year-old Bailee Lyday of Salem Mobile Home Park was ordered to spend the weekend in jail on a drug court sanction.
21-year-old Tanner Bushue of State Route 37 in Kinmundy was arrested by State Police for driving under the influence. He later posted $100 bond and was released from the Marion County Jail.
19-year-old Konner Hess of Bee Branch Road in Salem posted $150 bond after being arrested by Odin Police for driving on a suspended license.
The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of a 16 inch Poland Chain Saw, 16 inch brass bell and a wall furnace owned by Tom Fortman of Kinmundy. Fortman reported the items were taken from a home he is moving out of on South Madison Street.
The CEJA Corporation reported the theft of phone wire from U.S. 50 East in Salem.
Gerald Cooper of Seavers Road in Iuka reported tin was damaged on a shed he owns. Cooper believes those responsible may have been trying to gain entry to the building.
