Police Beat for Monday, July 22nd, 2013A 37-year-old Centralia man is being held in the Marion County Jail for domestic battery and driving on a suspended license. Cory Mullens of Community Beach Road is accused of shoving his wife Angela inside their vehicle while traveling in the Walnut Hill area Saturday night. She allegedly jumped out of the moving vehicle to try and get away. Cory then allegedly tried to force his wife back into the vehicle. However, Angela was able to get to a nearby home where the sheriff's department was called. Cory Mullens was located and taken into custody a short time later.
30-year-old Anna Seaton of East Second in Kinmundy was arrested by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources on an outstanding traffic warrant.
33-year-old Tasha Beck of Murphysboro posted $150 bond and was released after being arrested for no valid drivers license and obstructing identification.
20-year-old Jordan Starr of North Link in Mt. Vernon posted $150 bond and was released after being arrested for driving on a suspended or revoked license.
Kell Firemen were called to remove a build up of carbon dioxide in the basement of the Kenny Benjamin home at 572 Old Salem Road in Kell late Sunday night. The home apparently filled with carbon dioxide as a result of a gasoline power washed being used in the basement.
