Police Beat for Monday, December 31st, 2012A 21-year-old Mt. Vernon man was being held in the Marion County Jail Monday morning on drug charges following a Sunday traffic stop. Wamac Police arrested Mica Klebba of East Boyd Road for possession of a controlled substance and possession of 2.5 to ten grams of cannabis after the cannabis and a half-gram of cocaine was found in his car.
Centralia Police arrested two persons after being called to a domestic dispute at a Centralia home Sunday night. Police say 36-year-old Matthew Askew of South Pine Street was taken into custody for domestic battery for allegedly striking his wife Tammy Askew. While there, police checked on the identity of a man sleeping on the couch. 21-year-old Brett Royer was taken into custody after police determined he was wanted on a Shelby County warrant.
A 43-year-old Centralia man remained in custody Monday morning following a Saturday arrest for domestic battery. Billy Finley Junior of North Poplar is accused of jumping out of a car in his driveway and throwing both his wife and sister to the ground. His wife was allegedly thrown to the ground a second time when Finley started towards her seven-year-old daughter and she intervened.
