Police Beat For Sunday, April 21st, 2013The Marion County canine alerted on two vehicles during traffic stops Saturday night, leading to drug arrests. Marion County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Emani Hollingsworth of Robbins on Interstate 57. He was arrested for possession of between 30 and 500 grams of cannabis. Salem Police made the other arrest when the county canine alerted on a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Jaie Easley of Calvert Road in Iuka. Easley post $150 bond for alleged possession of between 2.5 and ten grams of cannabis.
Sandoval Police arrested two for alleged domestic battery Saturday night. 20-year-old Cody Tate of South Mulberry in Sandoval and 47-year-old Pate Petty of Marion Street in Central City both remained in the Marion County Jail Sunday morning.
The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating a report that two people were jumped when going to a home behind the cafe in Vernon. Mary Kyael of Vandalia said the incident occurred when she went to pick up her children. Kyle Tate of Vandalia was also allegedly jumped. The sheriff's department reports the two did not require hospital treatment.
Sammy Lowe of Vermundy Road reported criminal damage to an oil rig on the Willett Road in rural Patoka.
