Patoka School Board Recognizes Baseball Teams for Outstanding SeasonThe Patoka School Board Thursday night recognized both the High School and Junior High Baseball teams on their accomplishments during the fall season. The high school team tied for first place in the Egyptian Illini Conference and won the conference tournament. The junior high team qualified for the state tournament. A banner will be put up in the gym for their accomplishments.
The school board noted $4,110 in donations were raised for the new baseball scoreboard. Donated St. Louis Cardinal tickets raised $822 for the scoreboard.
Superintendent Mike Conlon reported first quarter expenditures are running better than budgeted at this point. The district has received the majority of its property tax receipts from Marion County. The school has also received some of the categorical payments still owed by the state for the last fiscal year that ended June 30th.
The board approved making application for recognition for the 2012-2013 school year.
