Patoka Man Arrested for Steeling Mother's Car and Crashed ItAn 18-year-old Patoka man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a car from his mother. Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say Geoffrey Organ of West Clinton Street was arrested after others that were passengers in the vehicle provided statements that Organ was driving when the car crashed into a tree and caught fire. The crash occurred near the Berry and Mona Road intersection in rural Patoka.
Organ had originally reported the 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass as missing on Saturday. He told deputies he was the last to drive the car and discovered it missing from a driveway in the 200 block of East Poplar in Odin on Saturday morning. The burned remains of the car were then located on Sunday. Deputies say some of those in the vehicle at the time of the crash received minor injuries, but did not require hospitalization.
