One Man Art Show in Odin Saturday

By Will Doolin, WJBD News

The village of Odin is going artsy this weekend as local artist Mike Stallard will have his works on display for public viewing and for sale Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sugg Building in downtown Odin.  The public is invited to come and view the artwork and meet Stallard.  Everyone is welcomed to visit the free event.

Several original works will be for sale as well as a number of limited edition high quality prints.  Stallard recently donated a number of limited edition prints to local groups as fundraisers.  Local groups such as the Odin Renewal and Development Council, Odin PTO, Odin Firemen's Association, Odin Firemen's Association, Odin First Baptist Church, and Salem Community High School Art Club will be selling their donated works, with the sales going directly to their groups.

Stallard grew up in southern Illinois and attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.  He is proficient in a variety of artwork, including watercolor, acrylic, marker, carving, scratchboard, and pen and ink.  He currently teaches Art and Digital Photography at Salem Community High School.
