Odin Man Who Was Found Outside Church Apparently Died From Natural CausesA 78-year-old rural Odin man who was found laying outside an Odin church late Friday morning appears to have died from natural causes.
Marion County Deputy Coroner Claude Howell says Bob Deadmond of Red Stripe Road apparently was spotted by a passerby a short time after he fell to the ground outside the Odin Baptist Church.
Howell says there was a ladder propped up against a wall of the church. At first, there was some thought Deadmond may have fallen from the ladder. However, Howell reports he had no injuries.
Deadmond was taken to Salem Township Hospital where efforts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead. Howell reports Deadmond had some medical issues in the past.
Deadmond was the retired manager for Sherwin-Williams where he worked for 40 years. He served as trustee and Sunday School Superintendent and was a devoted worker at the Odin First Baptist Church.
