Odin Man Pleads Guilty to Sexually Assaulting Seven Year Old Girl for Two Years
Patrick Lyons of West Poplar will be sentenced on February 11th after a presentence investigation is completed. As part of the plea, prosecutors have agreed to recommend a sentence of ten years on each count for a total of 20 years. The sentences would be served consecutively, with state law requiring at least 85 percent of the time to be served. Lyons would also have to complete mandatory supervised release of three years to life.
Lyons was arrested in May for committing sexual acts with a five-year-old girl who was a distant relative in 2007. The acts allegedly continued over a two year period. State's Attorney Matt Wilzbach says Lyons would periodically babysit the girl. An investigation began after the girl's mother found a note making reference to the alleged sexual acts.
Lyons was arrested on an outstanding warrant on the two charges following an investigation by State Police, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the Amy Center.
