No One Injured In Salem School Bus-Pickup Truck Crash

Salem Police say no one was injured when a pickup truck ran into the rear of an empty school bus on South Broadway at the CSX Railroad crossing Thursday morning.

Police report the bus driver, 69-year-old Frederick Venturini of East Olive in Salem, had stopped as required by law at the railroad crossing.  The bus was struck by 34-year-old Michael Heinzmann of Shingle Oak Drive in Salem.

Heinzmann was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
