No One Hurt When Pickup Runs Under I-DOT Dump Truck

By Bruce Kropp, WJBD News

No one was injured when a pickup truck ran underneath an Illinois Department of Transportation Dump Truck on Illinois Route 37 south of Kell Wednesday morning.

Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say the driver of the I-DOT truck 49-year-old Mark Tockstein of Odin, had slowed to make a left turn when he was hit in the rear by the pickup truck driven by 41-year-old Russell Williams of Dix.  Williams pickup wedged underneath the dump truck, but was able to get out of the pickup on his own.  The wreck occurred a half mile north of the Walnut Hill Road.

Williams was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The crash occurred at 8:18 Wednesday morning.
