No Injuries in Woman vs. Building Friday Morning
An 88-year-old Centralia woman escaped injury but was shaken up when her car ran into the Southern Illinois School of Cosmetology Building at Second and Lincoln in Centralia Friday morning. Mary Ashby indicated her foot slipped off the brake of her car onto the gas pedal. The impact knocked a hole in the side of the brick wall, but did not go through the insulation and inside wall. The front end of her car was also damaged. Ashby is the mother of Centralia Mayor Tom Ashby.(Photo by Tim Ferguson. Click on story headline for more photos)
