Naperville Woman Indicted on First Degree Murder Charges in Stabbing of Son and Girl
WHEATON, Ill. (AP) - A Naperville woman accused of stabbing to death her 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old girl she was babysitting has been indicted on charges of first-degree murder. DuPage County States Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement Thursday that a grand jury indicted Elzbieta Plackowska on 10 counts of first-degree murder. The 40-year-old also faces two counts of aggravated cruelty for stabbing the family's two dogs, a mixed breed named Niki and a dachshund named Tootsie. Prosecutors say Plackowska told police she killed her son last month to hurt her husband because he left her alone during the week, and killed the young girl because she was a witness.
Plackowska is scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday before DuPage County Judge Robert Kleeman. Kleeman already has ordered a mental examination.
