Mt. Vernon Woman Falls Off Motorcycle Traveling at 55 Miles Per HourA 19-year-old Mt. Vernon woman escaped with only apparent minor injuries on Thursday after falling off a motorcycle that was traveling at around 55 miles per hour.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department reports Krissa Morris was a passenger on the cycle when she fell when the driver accelerated to pass a slow moving vehicle on Route 37 in the Bakerville Bottoms south of Mt. Vernon. The driver of the cycle, 22-year-old Jesse Bain of Mt. Vernon, said he felt the passenger moving before she fell off.
Morris appears to have escaped mostly with road rash. She was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon for treatment.
The incident occurred at 4:23 Thursday afternoon.
