Marion County Court News for Tuesday, January 29th, 2013

By Bruce Kropp, WJBD News

Bond has been set at $50,000 for a 38-year-old Odin man who has been formally charged in Marion County Court with felony domestic battery and unlawful possession of under 2.5 grams of cannabis.  Robert Ferguson of Choteau Drive is accused of striking Sarah Swope in the head with a set of keyes and repeatedly punching her in the head.  The domestic battery charge was a felony based on a prior domestic battery conviction.

Bond has been set at $25,000 for 26-year-old Laura Spitler of Wortby Street in Odin for alleged forgery and theft.  Spitler is accused of writing a $107 check on the account of Thomas and Sandra Wade without their permission last November.  She's also accused of taking an X-box and digital camera from Jessie Misel on January 3rd.

The public defender was appointed to represent both Ferguson and Spitler.
