Marion County 4-H Team Honored StatewideThe Marion county 4-H Senior Livestock Judging Team earned statewide honors this week. The team earned the title of 2013 State 4-H Livestock Judging Team Champion Monday in Champaign. The team includes Dylan Sigrist of Farina, Rhiannon Branch of Iuka, Adrian Austin of Mt. Vernon and Andrew Livingston of Nokomis. They are coached by Steve Austin of Mt. Vernon. The team will advance to the national contest in Kansas City in October. Team members also received individual honors. Branch placed 3rd individual overall, Austin placed 8th and Sigrist placed 10th. In the Reasons Division, Austin tied for 1st place, Branch placed 6th and Sigrist placed 9th.
It was also an award winning event for the Junior Livestock Judging team. They placed 2nd at the event. Team members include Bailey Sigrist of Farina, Jacob Hanks of Iuka, Cole Horner of Vandalia and Eric Schafer of Owaneco. The teams would like to thank everyone for their support.
