Marcum Sentenced on Criminal Sexual Abuse Charges
2/6/2013 @ 10:04 AMA 47-year-old Centralia man has been sentenced in Marion County Court on an aggravated criminal sexual abuse charge. George Marcum of Greenview Road had been found guilty earlier of the charge by a jury. The negotiated sentence places Marcum on four years probation, requires him to participate in a specialized sexual offender treatment program, and forfeit his $2,000 bond as fine and costs in the case. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim and no unsupervised contact with those under the age of 18. Marcum was found guilty of touching the breast of a 13-year-old girl at his home on New Year's Eve 2011. The girl was reportedly a friend of Marcum's step-daughter. There were no witnesses and no statement from Marcum at Tuesday's sentencing hearing.
