Local Author Aims to Teach Children Real Lessons with Children's Book
"It's a story of a cat named Lucy, who is inside on a rainy day and uses her imagination. She makes a big mess and learns we have to clean up after ourselves or we could get hurt. Lucy is pretty much code for my daughter, Elise" Yannayon said.
Yannayon hopes that her book will teach kids real world lessons--and possibly take away a few headaches from parents struggling with their children's messy rooms.
Yannayon's book has been met with high sales numbers, with the first shipment selling out on several retailers websites. The success prompted her publishing company to ask for a follow up, which is in the works.
Her second book continues the story of Lucy the Kitten, in the sequel, Lucy must learn to be a big sister to her newborn brother--a story also taken directly from the lives of Yannayon's children.
"Lucy's Big Mess" is available on Walmart.com, Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, as well as on the Kindle E-Reader.
