Kaskaskia College to Hold Free Financial Aid Workshop February 24thKaskaskia College will host a Financial Aid Workshop on Sunday, February 24th at 1 p.m. The workshop is for parents, high school seniors, and current or prospective college students planning to attend college in the fall who want assistance with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The workshop will contain sessions, along with hands-on help, to complete the FAFSA. Other sessions will include information on scholarship searching, financial aid 101, and veteran benefits. Financial Aid Resources presentations will be given at 1 p.m. and Scholarship Search and Writing Workshops will be given at 2 p.m. Professionals and Counselors will be on hand to review the FAFSA form and to answer any questions you may have.
Those attending the workshop will need to bring a calculator and your 2011 tax information, such as the parents and students 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ federal forms and W-2 forms. You will also need to bring the student's drivers' license and social security card, records of any untaxed income, and information regarding net worth of family and students assets, such as businesses, investments, and current bank balances.
