Kaskaskia College Holds Annual Family Reunion and Open House Saturday

Kaskaskia College will hold its annual Family Reunion and Open House from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.   There will be a full day of activities for the whole family, and all are free of charge.

 

All day activities will include: Portrait of a Soldier- travelling exhibit of hand drawn portraits of fallen area service men and women by artist Cameron Schilling of Mattoon; Tennis and Racquetball Tournaments; Schnucks Giant Cart; “Yogurt Man” with Farm Animals from Windcrest Dairy; Live Musical Entertainment; Military Vehicles and a Car Show.

 

All day children’s activities include: Inflatables, Face painting, Wooden figure painting, little blue bucket train, children’s tractor pull, hay rides, children’s games and activities provided by Early Childhood Education, fingerprinting, princesses and pirates, and mascots Smokey Bear, Woodsy Owl and Bobber.

 

Schedule of Events:

8:30 am: Car Show Registration Begins, Cosmetology Princess Makeover – Session I (appointment necessary);

9:00 am: Free Baseball Clinic Grades 1-8;

10:00 am: Balloon Lady/Clown;

10:30 am: Campus Tours begin, Department Demonstrations;

10:45 am:  Cosmetology Princess Makeover – Session II (appointment necessary);

11:00 am Hugs and Fitz Performance - Gymnastics, Dance, and All-Star Cheer,  Chili and Soup Cook-Off Begins, Volleyball- KC vs. Mineral Area Community College;

11:30 am: Department Demonstrations.

12:00 noon: Studio 50 Gym Dance and Cheer Center Performance, Softball Double Header KC vs. St. Louis Community College; 12:30 pm: Department Demonstrations; 1:00 pm: Cosmetology Princess Makeover – Session III (appointment necessary), Kaskaskia College Cheerleading Squad Performance, Chili and Soup Cook-Off Judging, Volleyball-Lincoln College vs. Mineral Area Community College;

2:00 pm: Jaguarz Double Dutch Team Performance;

2:30 pm: Southern Illinois Elite Tumble and Cheer Performance;

3:00 pm: Car Show Awards, Volleyball- KC vs. Lincoln College;

4:30 pm: Volleyball- Autographs and Free Clinic (Everyone is welcome).

             

In addition, campus tours will be conducted approximately every 15 minutes; KC departments and programs will feature displays, and admissions and program personnel will be on hand to answer any questions.  If you are a KC graduate, or are just interested in a fun and informative day, you are invited to the KC Family Reunion and Open House.
