Kaskaskia College Dairy Judging Team Second in NationThe Kaskaskia College Dairy Judging Team recently competed nationally and received high marks. The team took second High Team honors at the Southwestern Intercollegiate Dairy Judging Contest at the Ft. Worth Stock Show in Ft. Worth, Texas on January 19th and 20th, 2013. The team finished second in Jerseys, fifth in Brown Swiss, third in Holsteins, and third in Oral Reasons.
Individually, Morgan Wendling finished fifth in Jerseys, eighth in Brown Swiss, tenth in Holsteins, and was fourth High Individual Overall. Dylan Reed was seventh in Jerseys, eighth in Hosteins, ninth in Oral Reasons, and was fifth in High Individual Overall. Jessica Telgmann was seventh in Holsteins and sixteenth in Overall, and Brett Woker finished tenth in Jerseys and seventeenth Overall, and Ryan Vonder Haar was eleventh in Jerseys.
Professor Aaron Heinzmann who accompanied the team to Fort Worth says their team was one of the youngest teams there, competing against teams that have been very successful at national competitions across the country. He congratulated the team and says they represented the college very well.
