Kaskaskia College Agriculture Program to Host 2013 Dairy Summit
The Kaskaskia College Agriculture Program will host the 2013 Dairy Summit in late January. The summit will take place on Thursday, January 24th at the Lifelong Learning Center on the KC Main Campus. The program is entitled “Optimizing Opportunities”. The event is being sponsored by the Illinois Milk Producers' Association.
Topics will include strategies on feeding the lactating herd, calf and heifer management, cow transition needs, IMPA update, MDA update, plus a dairy panel discussion on automated calf feeding systems. The day will also include a question and answer session as well at product and information booths.
All meetings will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. with registration and viewing of commercial dairy company booths from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
