Full Ban On Cell Phone Driving Passes Senate Committee(Springfield, IL) -- The state of Illinois is looking at an across-the-board ban on driving while using a cell phone. An Illinois Senate committee yesterday passed a measure that will now go to the full Senate for approval. More than 70 communities have a ban on using cell phones when driving but this bill would provide uniformity across the state.
