Flora Man Injured In One Car Crash East of Salem

A 26-year-old Flora man was injured in a one car crash on U.S. 50 near Bannister Road Friday morning.

Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say Daniel Heller drifted off the side of the pavement while traveling west bound.  He then over corrected and ran into the roadside ditch where his car overturned.  It was initially feared Heller was trapped in the vehicle, but he was able to get out on his own before emergency help arrived.  Heller was taken to Salem Township Hospital.

Deputies say Heller's dog was killed in the wreck.  The dog was apparently thrown out a window, with the vehicle landing on top of him.  The wreck occurred at 10:15 Friday morning.
