First Round of Property Taxes DistributedMarion County Treasurer Patti Hahn has made her first distribution of this year's property taxes to the various taxing bodies. A total of $11,495,358 was distributed. Just over $7-million will go to schools, $1.3-million to cities and tax increment financing districts, and $1.4-million to Marion County government.
Road and bridge districts will share in $574-thousand, Fire Districts $560,466, Townships $433,965, Townships $434-thousand, the Centralia Regional Library District $127,142, Salem Township Hospital $75,796, the Salem Airport $26,690, Multi-township districts $26,294, and the Odin Cemetery $1,684.
The second installment of property taxes is due on September 25th. There is now a 1.5-percent late fee on those still needing to pay the first installment. Mobile Home Tax Payments were due Monday.
