Fire Destroys Combine in Rural Patoka

Fire destroyed a combine north of Patoka Tuesday afternoon.

Patoka Fire Chief Blake Hyde reported the combine was owned by Marlon Schukar of rural Shobonier. The fire broke out while Schukar was combining near the intersection of Fayette County Roads 600E and 1200N two miles north of the Marion County line. The fire in the 1985 New Holland combine began in the engine compartment. The cause of the fire has not been determined.

The fire call came in at 2:25 Tuesday afternoon.
