Fire Damages Outside Wall of Rural Centralia Home

By Bruce Kropp

The outside wall of an addition to a mobile home occupied by Dustin Donaldson at 3044 Airport Road southeast of Centralia was damaged by fire Tuesday morning.

Centralia Fire District Chief Greg Earle said the fire began in some trash piled against the back of the home. He reports they were fortunate a neighbor spotted the fire and was able to throw and squirt water on it until they arrived. One person inside the home got out safely. Earle reported the fire never got inside the home, but there was some smoke damage.

The State Fire Marshall's office was called to try and determine the cause of the fire, but there was no immediate ruling. The mobile home is owned by Donaldson's grandmother, who now lives out of state.  The fire call came in at 6:30 Tuesday morning.
