Eight Salem High School Students Honored as Illinois State Scholars
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) has announced that eight Salem Community High School seniors have been honored as Illinois State Scholars. Kaitlyn Short, Miranda Haeuber, Rachel Williams, Kelsey Morkassel, Sydney Tefft, Aaron Ingles, Allie McGraw, and Brennan Moore were honored as Illinois State Scholars. Kelsey Morkassel was named a State Scholar last year as well.The Illinois State Scholar Program recognizes Illinois high school seniors for outstanding academic achievement. Students ranking in the top ten-percent of the state's graduating high school seniors have been named Illinois State Scholars. Rankings are based on a combination of exemplary college entrance examination scores and class rank at the end of the sixth semester in high school.
