Driver Injured, Another Driver Arrested for DUI Crash on Green Street Road Thursday
One driver was injured and the other was arrested for alleged driving under the influence following a two car crash on the Green Street Road at the Ross Road intersection Thursday night.Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say 32-year-old Bobbie Hegwood of Ullman Road in Centralia was traveling on the Green Street Road when she slowed to make a turn onto Ross Road. The car traveling behind Hegwood didn't slow down and struck the rear of her car. 64-year-old Allan Sutherland of Atlanta, Georgia was ticketed for driving under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Hegwood was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment. Sutherland escaped injury. He was taken to the Marion County Jail where he posted $300 bond and was released.
The Centralia Fire Protection District was called to the scene as a precaution, but noone was trapped in the vehicles. The wreck occurred at 7:30 Thursday night.
