Centralia Man Arrested on Drug Charges After Car Runs Off RoadA 39-year-old Centralia man faces multiple drug and traffic charges after his car ran off the Odin Road near the Soper Road intersection early Monday morning and crashed into the roadside ditch.
Marion County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Howard Mays of South Maple Street for alleged driving under the influence of drugs, possession of under five grams of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, and possession of under 2.5 grams of cannabis. The methamphetamine reportedly was packaged for sale. Mays was also ticketed for improper lane usage, no insurance and driving on a suspended license.
While Mays was still in his car when deputies arrived, he was able to get out on his own and was not injured. Both Odin Fire and emergency medical service personnel initially responded before police knew if there were any injuries. The wreck occurred at 12:33 Monday morning.
