Centralia Community Blood Drive WednesdayThe American Red Cross will be holding the Centralia Community Blood Drive on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Moose Family Center in Centralia. Red Cross officials report that Superstorm Sandy has forced the cancellation of hundreds of blood drives along the East Coast, resulting in a shortfall of thousands of donations in the area. They also report that with winter time approaching and the holidays coming up, there are fewer blood drives going on. Those who donate at the blood drive will receive a piece of pumpkin pie. The Red Cross reports they need to collect 17,000 donations daily to keep up with supplies.
