Brawl Cancels Regional High School Basketball Game

(Mounds, IL)  --  Police are trying to figure out what caused a big brawl after a high school basketball game at Meridian High School.

About ten fights broke out in the lobby, gym, and outside the building after the Cairo-Meridian game on Wednesday night.  Police say at least two adults were involved in the fights.  One student suffered a broken hand but other than that, there were no serious injuries.

The Century and Egyptian teams were about to play in the regional tourney but their game was cancelled.
