Brawl Cancels Regional High School Basketball Game
(Mounds, IL) -- Police are trying to figure out what caused a big brawl after a high school basketball game at Meridian High School.About ten fights broke out in the lobby, gym, and outside the building after the Cairo-Meridian game on Wednesday night. Police say at least two adults were involved in the fights. One student suffered a broken hand but other than that, there were no serious injuries.
The Century and Egyptian teams were about to play in the regional tourney but their game was cancelled.
