Bond Set For Sandoval Man Charged With Child Sex AbuseBond was set at $100,000 for a 43 year old Sandoval Man charged with criminal sexual assault of a minor in Marion County Court on Thursday.
Michael Hunt of Old U.S. 51 was taken into custody after a female student at Sandoval High School admitted to sexual abuse from Hunt as long as she can remember. Marion County Sheriff Jerry DeVore said the investigation began after a person who had overheard Hunt talking about having sexual relations with the girl contacted the Sandoval High School Principal with the information. The girl reportedly initially denied the allegation, but later admitted to its validity.
States Attorney Matt Wilzbach cited Hunt's criminal history, which includes battery and theft convictions, when asking for the $100,000 in bond. If released on bond, Hunt will not be allowed contact with anyone under the age of 18.
Hunt had the public defender appointed to represent him.
