At Least Seven People Hurt In Two Jefferson County Wrecks

By Bruce Kropp

Reports are incomplete on two Jefferson County accidents with injuries.

Jefferson Rural Fire Officials say a Centralia woman was the driver of a car involved in a one vehicle crash near the Miller Lake and Tolle Road intersection northeast of Mt. Vernon early Sunday morning. Initial information indicates Amy Dodge struck a guardrail after swerving to miss a deer. Dodge and an unidentified passenger were reportedly taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. No other details are available.

At least five people are reported injured in a crash on Route 15 at Panzier Road near Woodlawn Saturday afternoon. Initial information indicates a jeep carrying five people ended up overturning in the roadside ditch after colliding with a car with two occupants. Woodlawn Firemen received mutual aide assistance from Jefferson Rural Firemen. Washington County Ambulance was called to assist Litton Ambulance in getting those injured to the hospital.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department is investigating both crashes, but say reports are not yet available.
