Armed Robbery in Mt. Vernon Under Investigation
The Mt. Vernon Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at Borowiak's IGA Gas Station at 500 South Tenth Street.Police say a black male, armed with a handgun, ran westbound from the scene. A witness reported the offender entered a small, white vehicle a short distance away. The man was wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt with the word 'Malibu' across the front. Police say no one was injured during the armed robbery.
